Helpful in some ways, not in others
Though the software does take you through the Plan writing process in steps, I prefer to have the entire document right in front of me as I'm writing, so I created mine in Word. While I didn't care for the blank template offered in this software, the myriad of business and marketing plan examples were extremely helpful in getting me through my first attempt at composing a Plan of my own. You have your own library of successful business plans to reference.

I ordered this so my son could use it for school, but he can't make it interface with the powerpoint 3 at school, so he's not using it. So, really can't give it an accurate review.


Getting it open
I had the most difficulty opening the container it comes in! I'm pretty handy about mechanical things but there are no instructions about how to open the package. I was disassembling it when I realized that it had a pivot and by removing the top tape it would open.

The product works as expected.

I was disappointed because it did not do what I needed done and it was not possible to determine that without working with the product. Description led me to believe it would do something that I needed done. Instead, I find that I need to purchase another Microsoft product to complete my task. Faulty Installation Diskette #2
Art Explosion Publisher Pro 2.0

I was unable to install due to a missing file error on CD#2 in July 2008. Nova Development supplied a replacement CD promptly but it had the same error. I phoned technical support who was aware of the problem at the "factory" that makes the CDs. Technical support was unable to give me a time as to when it would be fixed and was unable to provide a downloadable fix. However, I was promptly offered a refund. For a mass market type of product, I thought that this was reasonable service. If I receive my refund cheque OK, I will probably try buying it again as it had good reviews.


Excellent graphic and design program for the price
I have used this product in the past and was purchasing it for my new employer. Publisher Pro is an excellent design tool. It is very user friendly and is excellent for designing websites, brochures, flyers, and producing camera ready layouts. I would recommend this product to any one in the design and marketing industries.


WOW! what a program
This is by far the best publishing and design program to be found anywhere. I have been in the printing business for over 35 years, spent thousands of dollars on high end programs. This application will do 99% of what most people will want to do from designing a brochure to a really high end publication. Buy it! it truly a wonderful program!


Converted from MS Publisher
I was using MS Publisher and this has got it beat. It has a lot of features yet it is easy to use, good help screens. I am already more than halfway done with our catalog and I am thrilled with it.

PowerPoint 2007
PowerPoint 2007 seems to do what its supposed to, but I have a few complaints: it doesn't package a powerpoint presentation to CD-RW, only to CD-R, and its rather difficult to get the program to do things other than in the pre-designed fashion. Also, when one sets up a slide show, it insists of moving any title slides one has made to the end of the show when you update with more slides. Probably a way to side step this, but time consuming figuring out how. I got the program from you quicker than I could have gotten, and I think cheaper, from Microsoft.


Excellent upgrade
Lots of new features and presentations look exceptionally slick. The VBA integration works well and it's the most significant upgrade since 1997.

Microsoft Visio 2007
Good product for constructing/designing flowcharts. As with all Microsoft programs it could be more user friendly. Lacks a true password protection for files...anyone can remove the protection.


Visio...A great specialized software product
I own Visio versions since the very first version before Microsoft bought the company.

Visio is a great product for makng organization charts, floor plans, diagrams, strip maps etc.

This latest version is designed to work in Vista and with the latest office product versions.

One thing I noticed is that this version of Visio lacks the current office 2007 interface. So it kinda of feel like it is one version behind.

I wish that microsoft would finally go ahead and just make Visio a permanent part of the office package. Also they need to just have one version. Why do they have the profession edition that comes with a few extra templates (none of which are worth the price). I have own both versions of Visio and I find it very frustrating that if you want to do a quick electrical diagram you have to buy the professional edition. The professional edition offers very specific type templates such as electrical, electronic, architecture etc.

The software shipped rather quickly. I had one minor installation problem where the upgrade would not install due to previous version I own.

I had to go to the microsoft web help site. Fortunately I found why it would not install and fixed the problem. I tried upgrading from a very old version of Visio on CD ROM and the software couldnt not find the dll file to validate. I got an install error message. I went to Microsoft help and discovered I had to point the validation tool to another directory on the CD ROM. Not sure why microsoft didnt build it into the installer.

As a student well worth the money
I was a little hesitant due to the cost along with so many different releases being put out all the time. I kept thinking as soon as I buy this Microsoft will put out yet another version therefore making this one out dated. But with all the papers I have due and a lot of the professors using Word 2007 my older version wouldn't read or accept some of the downloads.

I went ahead and purchased this and am glad I did! With all the download templates available (MLA, APA, Research papers etc.) it was well worth the money. Anyone that has tried to set up an APA or MLA paper on their old copies would understand my enthusiasm for the ease which Word 2007 Student allows me to just do my paper without the hassle of constantly fighting the format!

I would recommend purchasing this version just for the time saved alone. It does take a bit to get used to as the basic toolbar has changed. But after awhile you will have it down and be turning in those papers with ease.

I am a new student to the program so still am learning. I hope to write a book using it


Word for dummies
I absolutely love the ease of use of this product. With all the programs I have to know, it's nice that all you need to do is target an item at the top of the page and it gives you details as to what it's used for. Sometimes I forget, so it's great if I need to just target and read. Takes the guess work out of your tasks. This product is excellent for first-time users.
